Montana Meals July COTM: Drink (Water) and Be Merry!
Good nutrition isn’t only about food. Good nutrition also includes proper hydration. Drinking enough water throughout the day keeps your body functioning at its best and can prevent those early signs of dehydration – headache, fatigue, and trouble concentrating. Water requirements vary considerably from person to person, but a good rule of thumb is to aim for 6-8 glasses (48-64 oz) of non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated fluid each day. (Coffee and tea are not dehydrating as once believed, but water is still your best drink option!)
So this month, the Montana Meals challenge is to keep track of your water intake, aiming for that minimum of 48 oz per day. A good reminder can be to keep a water bottle filled up and on your desk in plain sight. Download the July “Water Log“, and submit your entries by sending your completed log to firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘July Meals’ in the subject line of your email. Entries due by Friday, August 1st.
Montana Moves July COTM: Be a Trailblazer!
Goodbye snow! Goodbye mud! It’s summertime in Montana and the hiking is limitless, even into the fresh alpine air. We know that you have some favorite trails you’ll be headed to, but this month we’re challenging you to branch out and blaze into some new territory as well. Pick a trail you’ve never done or always wanted to do, and snap a picture of yourself at the trailhead (or anywhere along the way), and tell us about the trail and if you liked it. Send your picture to email@example.com by Friday, August 1st with the subject line of “Trailblazer” to be entered into our monthly prize drawing.
You must be a Montana University System Insured Plan member to participate.
