Montana Moves September COTM: Back to School BINGO!
Welcome back to school! For those of us who work in education, September is like a new beginning. Summer can be a busy time with varying schedules and vacations, and although we hope you’ve had an active summer of outdoor fun and recreation, September can be a time to get back into a good exercise routine. There are many ways to establish healthy, active habits as school starts back up, and to challenge you this month, we’re going to play a little BINGO! Use the Bingo Card below to record all the activities you do in September. Can you BINGO? Can you Blackout?
Download and print your Bingo Card today! Return it via email at mtchallenge@montana.edu, fax to 406-994-2391, or tweet to @montanamoves by October 1st to be entered into our end of the month drawing!
Montana Meals September COTM: Pack a Healthy Lunch!
Along with establishing healthy exercise habits at the beginning of the new school year, getting in the routine of packing a lunch can help you save money and calories, and keep you feeling great throughout the day.
A little thoughtful lunch planning can yield big rewards in terms of your energy level and overall nutrition. Although throwing together a PB&J is better than a vending machine or fast food meal, taking the time to pack a balanced meal that includes lean protein and veggies can keep you fueled until dinner and is an important strategy in preventing the dreaded 2 o’clock slump. This month, fill out the Healthy Lunch Log as you pack your lunch (at least once/week) to make sure you’re getting the nutrients your body needs and keep those afternoon junk food cravings in check. Submit your Healthy Lunch Log by Wednesday, Oct. 1st to be entered into the drawing for this foldable, freezable, reusable lunch bag!
No time to pack a lunch in the morning? Do it the night before while you’re cleaning up from dinner. Or, take some time on the weekend to prep a few items.
And finally, if you’re looking for some lunchtime inspiration, try this recipe shared for last month’s challenge by Leah E. Thanks for sharing, Leah!
