We’ve been doing a series of exercise videos that you can utilize at home, and I recently received a request for some kettlebell ideas. The kettlebell is a wonderful piece of free-weight equipment that has been around for a very long time, but has seen a resurgence of popularity in gyms and home gyms over the past 10-15 years.

In today’s video, we’ll explore a lower body kettlebell complex. A complex is a term for a series of different exercises performed sequentially with just one piece of equipment, usually with little or no rest period between exercises. Complexes provide a challenge not only to our neuromuscular systems, but also our cardiorespiratory systems, by driving up our heart rate and breathing rate quickly. This lower body complex is a big-time metabolic booster!

If you don’t have access to a kettlebell, you can substitute a dumbbell or medball for a couple of the exercises featured here. Enjoy the complex!

Be on the lookout for the next in this kettlebell series, which will feature a compound, or full-body combination movement.

Be Well!
